How long does Snapchat take to send your data?
Snapchat says it aims to deliver your data within 7 days, and that large downloads can take longer. Smaller exports often turn up within a day or two.
What makes it slower
Size, mostly. Snapchat says longer date ranges and bigger downloads take longer to put together, and years of Memories can add up to many gigabytes.
So only turn on what you need. For your Memories, that’s “Export your Memories” and then “Request Only Memories”. If you want the photos and videos from your chats as well, turn on “Export JSON files” and “Export Chat media” too. Every other category makes the export bigger and the wait longer, and we don’t use any of them.
Where your export shows up
Snapchat emails you when it’s ready. You can also find it yourself: sign in at accounts.snapchat.com, open “My Data” and press “See exports”. That list is handy if the email went to spam.
If it’s been more than 7 days
Check the “See exports” list first, in case the email never arrived. If there’s nothing there either, have a look at what to try when the download isn’t working.
While you wait
There’s nothing you need to do. And your Memories stay in Snapchat the whole time, so nothing is at risk while the export is being made.
