Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and BackupMemories ("we", "us") for usingBackupMemories. By using the service you agree to them. Ourprivacy policy explains how we handle your data.

1. Who can use BackupMemories

You must be 18 or older. You'll be asked to confirm this before you start.

2. What the service does

BackupMemories processes a Snapchat Memories export that you provide (or downloads the memories using the links in your own export) to restore dates, locations and captions, join split videos, and deliver the results to you. BackupMemories is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Snap Inc.

3. Your content

• You must only use exports from your own Snapchat account, or with the account owner's permission.
• You keep all rights to your content. We claim no ownership.
• You give us permission to process your content only as needed to provide the service to you, for the limited time described in our privacy policy.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use BackupMemories to:

• process content that's illegal, or that you don't have the right to use;
• overload, attack, probe or bypass the security of the service;
• access other people's jobs or results;
• resell the service or run it automatically at scale without our written permission.

We may refuse or stop processing that breaks these terms.

5. Your files are temporary

BackupMemories helps you make your own backup; it is not a storage service. Fixed files are deleted72 hours after they're ready, so download them or send them to a destination promptly. Keep your original Snapchat export until you've checked your results.

6. Other services

Snapchat, Google Photos, Google Drive, Dropbox and Apple's apps have their own terms, which apply when you use them. We're not responsible for their availability, for example if Snapchat's download links expire or stop working.

7. Price

BackupMemories is currently free. If we introduce paid features, we'll show the price clearly before you pay, and nothing will be charged without your explicit agreement.

8. No guarantees

We work hard to make the service reliable and accurate, but it's provided "as is". Snapchat exports vary and some files may be damaged or incomplete; we list anything we couldn't process in a report with your results. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties beyond those in these terms.

9. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data you didn't keep a copy of, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the last 12 months or 50 US dollars. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

10. Changes and ending

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the service means you accept the changes. You can stop using the service at any time and delete your files instantly.
