What the checker reads
Only each ZIP's table of contents (the list of files at its end) and Snapchat's list of your memories. It doesn't open your photos or videos, and nothing leaves your device. That's why it takes a second, even for a big export.
Why isn't Snapchat exporting all my memories?
- My Eyes Only. Snapchat lists them but leaves their files out. Unhide them in the app, then ask for a new export. More about this
- A part wasn't downloaded. Big exports come as several ZIP files, each with its own link in Snapchat's email. More about this
- The list was left out. Without "Export JSON files", Snapchat sends the memories without the list that holds their dates and places. More about this
- A download link expired. Snapchat then saves a small error file with the right name instead of the real part. More about this
