Is BackupMemories safe?
Your files are only used to fix your memories, and they're deleted automatically: the originals as soon as processing ends, and the fixed files 72 hours after they're ready, or straight away if you press "Delete my files now". They're processed in the EU, and no AI runs on them.
We never ask for your Snapchat password
You download your export from Snapchat yourself and add the files here. We never sign in to your Snapchat account, and we never ask you to.
Who can see your memories
Nobody here looks at them. The fixing is done by standard open-source tools (FFmpeg, ExifTool and Pillow) on servers in the EU. No AI runs on your photos or videos, and nothing is used to train anything.
When they’re deleted
The files you upload are deleted as soon as processing finishes, and never kept longer than 24 hours. The fixed files are deleted 72 hours after they’re ready. Or press “Delete my files now” on your results page and your files and email address go straight away. All we keep is an anonymous record of counts and timings, which can’t be linked back to you.
Google Photos, Google Drive and Dropbox
If you send your memories to one of them, we only ask for permission to add files, not to see what’s already there. And the permission is dropped as soon as sending finishes.

One person, not a big company. The About page says more, and Under the hood describes exactly how the system is built.
If you’d rather nothing left your device
That’s a fair choice. Some tools run entirely on your phone or computer instead, and ways to export Snapchat Memories, compared lists them, ours included.
