Can you export My Eyes Only on Snapchat?

Not with Snapchat's data export. The export lists your My Eyes Only memories, but the photos and videos themselves aren't in it, so you need to save them from the app.

Step by step

  1. Open My Eyes Only in Snapchat Swipe up from the camera to open Memories, go to the My Eyes Only tab and enter your passcode.
  2. Select what you want to keep Press and hold a Snap, or use the select icon at the top of Memories to pick several.
  3. Export them to your camera roll Tap "Export" and choose where to save them, the same way as with any other Memory.

What the export does with My Eyes Only

In the exports we’ve checked, every My Eyes Only memory is listed in memories_history.json (with its date and place), but the photo or video isn’t in the ZIP. So the numbers don’t add up, and it’s easy to think the export is broken when it isn’t.

How many did the export leave out?

BackupMemories counts them for you. Your results page and the report.txt file in your download list how many memories Snapchat listed but didn’t include. Those are almost always My Eyes Only. There’s more on what’s in report.txt.

If you’ve forgotten your passcode

There’s no way round it, unfortunately. Snapchat’s help page says that if you forget your My Eyes Only passcode, Snapchat can’t help you get into it or recover what’s inside. So if you remember it now, it’s worth saving anything important while you can.

Once they’re in your camera roll

They’re ordinary photos and videos on your phone from then on. If your phone backs up to Google Photos or iCloud, they’ll go along with everything else, so think about whether that’s where you want them.
