How to download all your Snapchat Memories

Snapchat lets you request a copy of all your Memories for free. It takes a minute to ask, and Snapchat emails you when it's ready.

Choose one:Memories only (recommended) orMemories and chat photos and videos.

Memories only (recommended)

  1. Open Snapchat's data pageOn a computer or phone, go to accounts.snapchat.com, sign in, and open My Data. In the app, it's under your profile → Settings → My Data.
  2. Turn on exactly these two switchesLeave everything else off. It keeps your export smaller and faster, and we don't need anything else.

  3. Choose "All time" and submitOn the next screen, pick the full date range, check your email address, and submit.
  4. Wait for Snapchat's emailUsually 1 to 2 days; very large libraries can take up to a week.
  5. Download every file in the emailBig libraries come as several files: download all of them and keep them as they are (no unzipping). Download soon: Snapchat's download links expire after about a week.
  6. Add them to BackupMemoriesWe launch soon.. We fix the dates, places, captions and videos, and you get them back ready for your photo app.

Memories and chat photos and videos

Same steps as above, with one more switch: Export Chat media. Chat photos and videos are saved by date in their own folder. We only use the media files, never your messages.

Good to know

My Eyes Only isn't included. Snapchat never exports My Eyes Only. Open Snapchat → Memories → My Eyes Only and save those to your camera roll yourself.
